What's a good site for web hosting and domain name?
Posted on Mar 09, 2008 under domain news and reports | 21 CommentsI want to start a website for my husband's auto body business. I've heard of godaddy.com, but it seems some people aren't really happy with them. Could you recommend other sites that you can register a name with, and build a website?

for web hosting i use http://www.000webhost.com as its simple ad free, free emails, 5 FTPs loads of free websites and its generally good and for web domain i use http://www.smartdots.com/ though you do get a small ad at the top and you also get loads of free stuff like emails and forums etc…

I think GoDaddy is the best that you will fine. I don't know why some people don't like them. I think they will do perfectly fine for you. I can even give you a coupon code for GoDaddy.com that will get you $10 off any order over $40 or more (which means $10 off domain and hosting) the code is: DIGG5
I wouldn't use GoDaddy's web building services though. They suck big time. Better to either learn web coding yourself or hire someone to do it. and you don't have to pay lots of money for a site nowadays so you should be able to find a good deal

GoDaddy is okay for domain name registration. There are several reasons why I no longer use them as a web host, though. I've switched to HostGator and am quite happy there.
It's a good idea to NOT get your domain name registration and your web hosting from the same company. It's kind of like putting all your eggs in one basket, gives you no leverage when there's a problem, and makes it a lot harder to switch one or the other if needed.

Before looking for a web hosting company do some reviews on the internet. Sites like webhostingeek.com or upperhost.com has some reviews on web hosts. I used Godaddy before too but i found their interface slow and clunky

Godaddy is great for domain registration but for hosting I would go with host gator:

They are the best hosting company I have found.
Good Luck!

Hello raegal.
I own a web hosting and web development company called eVentureBiz. We are a web development company that provides web hosting and is geared toward entrepreneurs.
We are currently setting up our web design, graphic design, and content development part of our website where we note that we aren't just web programmers, we're entrepreneurs. We design things from this point of view.
I run a blog on our site where I talk about such things as marketing, web development, and thinking like an entrepreneur.
When you visit our site you'll see we don't look like your average web hosting company. Instead of having a website that looks like one big ad for web hosting, we tell you what we have, show you the benefits of hosting with us, and then provide lots of actual useful information for you, your business, and your website.
Check out our entrepreneur's lounge:

As for hosting, here's a breakdown of our plans:

Take care and good luck,
John

You check My Webbie Hosting's plans. The cheapest is only $3.95/month, but if you want a Site Builder included in the plan, go for their Business plan ($4.95/month). check the link below for the templates.
Registration of one domain name for the first year is FREE for all plans, and it is only $9.50/yr for every additional domain name (.com, .net, .org, .info, .us, .biz). You can also visit the control panel demo (I also provided the link below) so that you can check if their features is compatible with your need.
