Who has the Cheapest domain registration fee?
Posted on Nov 16, 2011 under domain news and reports | 14 CommentsI have 30+ domain names and GoDaddy is always increasing its pricing. Who should I transfer all my accounts to to save me money. I do not want any introductory offer specials! I need long term registration and hosting.

November 16th, 2011 at 9:46 amI am exactly like you in that I have around 30 domains from Go Daddy. But switching could be a real headache unless you switched them all over at once. DO you really want to have to go to two different domain registrars to manage your domains and keep track of them? I decided to stick with Go Daddy for a while.

The price increases that you have noticed over the past few years have been seen across all registrars. If your domains are gTLD’s you won’t get much cheaper than godaddy for ongoing rates. Make sure you never pay full price, always use a discount code. Google godaddy codes or check the godaddy coupon thread at the domain forum Namepros.com

You could try http://www.dynadot.com http://www.namebargain.com or search & compare other good domain name registrars at http://www.domain.name
Alternatively,you might save on bulk registrations using a domain reseller package like Godaddy’s http://www.wildwestdomains.com

Most people perfer .NET as .ORG implies you are an organization. I always use .NET when a .com isn't available.

.NET: Network Serive
.ORG: Non-Profit Organizations
.Com: Commercial
.Name: personal

The next good option would be the .net domain then .org
It really depends upon the porpose and your personal choice. It you are opening for nonprofit, it is usually registered as .org
Normally .net is a network domain.
Say sbcglobal.net,att.net,etc.

If you want to stick to a particular name for your domain (for example Yahoo), then the next best thing is to try your country-specific domain extension. If you are a bit flexible and want to try related words, you can find a good alternative in .com itself.
