If you have changed your domain name, how do you get the search engine list to return the new domain name?

New domain URL has been used for the past 9 months.

  1. Set up some webspace using the old domain name, and set a global redirect there that directs all visitors using the old domain to the new one. A global .htaccess mod_rewrite will do this.

You'll need to decide whether you want to just redirect everyone using the old domain to the home page of your new domain (that's the easiest), or whether you want to get your fingers really dirty in trying to map all your old domain name URLs to the new URLs on the new domain name.
