What exactly does someone mean if they say something is not released into the public domain?

"The lyrics for this song has not yet been released to the public domain"
Does that mean they have not revealed the lyircs, and we are not allowed to post the lyrics if we somehow figured them out?

It means that someone still owns the copyrights on it and you would have to pay to use it.
