   To host your site for free, I would highly recommend the following 2 sites.

   Awardspace -> http://www.awardspace.com (PHP + MySQL)
   50webs -> http://www.50webs.com

   Both of these sites allow you to host for free and does not have any advertisement pop ups like those provided by geocities.

   I have sites hosted on both the companies. Example
   Awardspace -> http://www.wanginternet.com
   50webs -> http://cctvcamera.50webs.com

   they offer free dns services, and you can pick any of the public domains from a huge (and i mean huge) list
