How does one transfer adomain to another provider? godaddy.com seems to be expensive?

It seems godaddy.com wants 9-10 bucks for a year…anyone know how to transfer to a less expensive site to handle my domain? No need for webhost.

GoDaddy will transfer your exisiting domain for $6.95. I hate to tell you this but they are one of the cheapest and that is not for hosting, just for the transfer.
