What do you think of lunarpages.com?
Posted on Dec 19, 2008 under lunarpages.com | 6 CommentsI need to have the following for a website, will lunarpages.com be able to handle this all?
1. Shopping cart (paypal is fine)
2. Customers able to download PDF
3. Multiple autoresponders
4. Mailing list sign-up form (as well as other forms that I don't know of yet)
5. Total WYSIWYG
6. Blog
I guess I already know that lunarpages offers most of these things, but can I get it all for the "basic" package? And, will I have to pay any extra for some of the options above?
On www.lunarpages.com, it shows all that is offered, but I don't know enough about websites to understand everything I am looking at.
I called the customer service line, but I got off the phone not knowing much more than when I called. From what she told me, basically, it just gets more expensive as you have more bandwith.
UGH! I am so confused. Will somebody please help me out?!

Yes. You can do all that with Lunarpage's Basic Hosting package. Instead of setting up each of the things you need individually, may I recommend using a CMS (ie. Joomla)? Lunarpages comes with Fantastico, which will let you setup Joomla and other CMS with just one click, very easy to use. If you want to check out Joomla, go to joomla.org. Joomla has tons of extensions you can add to achieve things on your list.
I use Lunarpages and I have setup Joomla for a few of my client's websites. Their Basic Web Hosting comes with 15,000 GB/Month of traffic, which will be more than you'll need.
