What is the best website host for a family wanting to post pictures?

Posted on Dec 29, 2008 under best hosting | 10 Comments

we want to be able to have a website where our friends can go and get pictures from random camping events that we have, instead of having to send them out all the time, I need it to either be free or cheap and have picture downlading like photobucket. also so it looks nice and not totallly blank.

  1. try yahoo or webshots. a friend of mine uses both. i know they are both free and i've saved photos she's taken from both sites

  2. my brother and I own http://www.1powerhost.com……email me at billing@oscsolutions.net and I will either donate some space to you or show you where to set up a very easy, simple site for your pictures….
    no catches.i'm not selling anything….
i will gladly point you in the right direction…

why not having your own website..there are many free webserver like geocities where you can make and publish your site (and picture for free)and be able to make it or design your own according to your desire..it could also be a good family bonding in all of your family member designing your site :)

http://www.thefreesite.com/Free_Image_Hosting/ try this one for free image hosting if you dont want to make your own site.

  4. try yahoo they host picture sharing websites

  5. You should try :
    http://www.photos.yahoo.com
    and
    http://www.webshots.com
In both, basic membership is free, and you can specify who all are eligible to view and/or download the pics that you post on your webpage.

  6. If you already have a website, or web hosting, there are several software packages that are free.

    http://linpha.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page (what we use)

    Free web sites

    http://www.shutterfly.com/
    http://www.webshots.com

  7. try bubbleshare.com, its good and easy to use and your public albums will be searchable in goolge search engine too.
flickr is also good but a bit complecated, u need to sign in with a yahoo id
    naming some more:
    yahoo photo album
photobucket : but the webpage is very dirtyly customised, so u might not prefer to use it
the two links i have given are for bubble share and flickr respectively

  8. Buy a domain name from 1&1. (~$6/year)
Besides the 1G mailbox with your domain name, you
get a 5 page website, an easy to use sitebuilder, etc.
    http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=8292866

If you need more space, $2.24/month gives you 5G of hosting
with the domain for free. $3.74/month gives you 100G of
hosting and 2 free domains. Both packages include a photo
    gallery builder.
