What's the cheapest way to retain a domain name?

Posted on Jan 29, 2009 under domain news and reports | 6 Comments

I purchased a domain name (e.g. www.mydomain.com) from one of those "get a domain for $1.99" deals a year ago, now the renewal fee for it is $50 (for one additional year). Aren't there cheaper options that I can explore BEFORE my year is up on the $1.99 deal? I'd like to retain the domain name, as I'm hopefully planning to use it for a website at the end of the year. How can I keep my domain name, how would I transfer elsewhere, and how much should it cost, since I don't have any hosting for it at this point?

  1. DzSoundNirvana Says:

yes, the top one is http://godaddy.com/ from my last search.
However. You do not fall under a "new domain" not if you want to use the same one. You are a "Transfer"…….and http://godaddy.com/ is the cheapest with out any games and gimmicks

To include hosting…I don't see a domain name being helpd for $50 a year…something fishy there!

  2. I suggest move it to http://one.com they host it for only 1,45 $ a month inlcuding FULL options, I love them !

They are honest and helpful peeps.

See the brief review on http://webdesign.coolstart.nl/

  3. Visit http://www.hostingcouponoffer.com they give you a free domain for life and a hosting plan that comes with unlimited webspace at a monthly cost of $4.84.

You can easily transfer over your existing domain too.
