Looking for good free web hosting, can anyone suggest any please? <20mb is plenty?
Posted on Jan 31, 2009 under free hosting | 5 CommentsI've got an angelfire account, it's pretty naff but is there much better for free? I'm only hosting a small collection of specialist stories and a few photos per page. The whole site will be no more than 10mb, however ads interfere with the look of it. Can anyone point me to anything better? I know Geocities exist as well, not so great either. Thanks for any help. Failing this, very very cheap hosting perhaps.
gnit, so far yours is the best answer. Going to leave it open a little longer. Basically it's the best free hosts I really need due to the small needs that I have.

http://www.getawebpage.net
That website list the top 10 or so web hosting companies.
I'd recommend Startlogic, Bluehost or Midphase (all are about the same, each is a bit different in one area or another).

► For free hosting, try google pages (pages.google.com) or yahoo geocities,
It's sort of free hosting, but you are limited to a subdomain on googlepages & geo has ads on your website – otherwise I would use http://www.interkeys.com/tophosts to get one for a few bucks a month with 750 GIGs of bandwidth and rich with features.. you will be much better off. Hosting is cheap nowadays.
It's up to you how developed a site you want and if you want to use your own domain name. Having your own domain name + your own hosting gives much more credibility to your site and allows you to be more flexible (such as adding google adsense to make money, affiliate links etc).
