Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under hostmonster.com | I recently signed up for hostmonster and found I have no clue what to do. I thought it was going to be way less complex! If anyone can help me that would be great. I would just like to know at least how to get started and if it is possible to use a program called cutenews with it. Switching hosting websites is not an option because I payed money for this one. Please help!

Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | I publish my site pages from iWeb, then upload them to my hosted domain via Captain FTP. When I visit my website, I get a 403 error. I know exactly what is happening but don't know how to prevent it. . .GoDaddy, my website host, infers that the files being created by iWeb are setting permissions that don't allow the pages to be seen once they are uploaded to the host. I can fix it (after the fact) by logging into GoDaddy, going to the hosting control center, and clicking next to each file then clicking Permissions and checking the box 'Web Visible.' That's a pain! I want permissions to be set automatically for all pages and objects that are a part of the site to be Web Visible after being published by iWeb and retaining those permissions all the way through publishing at the domain. What do I do??
I figured out that it was my iDisk causing the problems – that is where my website files are being saved. Publishing from the iDisk onto the web host makes the files private. I don't know what to change now with the iDisk and/or my .Mac account and settings.
Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | i Just got a godaddy domain but everyhting is so confusing. Its my first time owning my own website. What i want to do is use it as a information place to put information on it but all it shows is like selling stuff. Can someone tell me all you can do on godaddy.com?
Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | I have been making webpages for the last eight years…I do simple HTML coding, a few javascripts, and use images…nothing overly fancy.
I told my mother I would make her new preschool's website. I have the website's HTML code all done. Now I want to upload it to the domain name.
I tried looking for an advanced editor in the godaddy webshell. I could not find anything. So I figured I would FTP it like back in the day. But I cannot log into the site from WS_FTP.
I have to fill in host name/address, user ID, password, and account sections.
I just want to somehow copy and paste my HTML somewhere so it will show up on the domain. I am getting really cranky trying to figure this out!
Help please!
Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | Well, every time I log into go daddy I use that number they gave me. But when I use that in an FTP server, it says invalid. I'm guessing that you have to use your username then. But, I don't know how to find the username. Can someone please help?!?!
Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | You know the little icon next the the URL in the address bar, like the green speech bubble for Yahoo! Answers, is there a way to change it for the domain I own on GoDaddy?
Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | I am ready to buy some hosting for my site. At this time though I just want it uploaded and able to tweak the site settings and such for a public launch later this year.
I'm paying for one month, as I don't think I'll need for a second month just yet.
I will be activating it again a month or two after but want to be sure the database, settings, files, etc everything still exists.
Does godaddy keep data even though I may not renew it right away or for a month or so?
Posted on Feb 24, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | The wuestion is this simple, please don't tell me anything other than this: Is my Godaddy login info the same as my FTP login info?
