  1. no necessarily….a certified domain by godaddy just means they have verified the whois information on the domain registar.

    It does NOT mean they have doing any checks to make sure it is a legit site or not. And of course if you are going to provide your credit card or personal information to any site be sure it is secure with an SSL.
    That means that it starts with https:// and not just http://

  2. No. The certification just ensures that you are reaching the website you think you are reaching. It does not ensure that that website itself is secure or safe.

  4. A certified website does not mean it is a secure website. A website with an SSL (secure socket layer) certificate is encrypted. The web address of a secure website has a (S) behind the http://. Example: https://www.securepaynet.net/gdshop/registrar/search.asp?prog_id=prodezign
