What is the best web hosting service out there? (Don't say godaddy)?
Posted on May 16, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | 16 CommentsI know Godaddy is good, but I'm researching alternatives in terms of price, disk/bandwidth, and services. I don't need any of the typical e-commerce stuff…just a good overall package. Also, the availability of dedicated server packages with the availability of admin access is also good.

I'd highly recommend ICDSoft.
Site5 used to get rave reviews too until a few months ago.

I like Yahoo! for web hosting, and no I don't work for them. I've been using them for years, and the current setup of unlimited space and bandwidth on their basic package is great. They aren't the cheapest, but are totally affordable. I went with them for reliability. My last couple of hosts were not good enough with up-times. I've never had the slightest hiccup with Yahoo! in that regard.

NixPower is VERY good. But they don't offer dedicated servers. But, they have nice reseller packages you may be interested in. They have many different packages, plus customizable packages. Check em out!

i don't recommend godaddy to be honest, their tech support is totally unprofessional.
perhaps you can go for jump launch, i have been using it for almost a year now and so far i am totally pleased..cheap, reliable and a dedicated friendly tech support.
i pay around $60/year , the plan includes free domain and $80 google adwards and yahoo credits..unlimited disk-space/ bandwidth..user-friendly pre-configured scripts for forum creation, blog..etc and full ecommerce solution
you can also check http://www.freewebs.com/ultimatewebhostingcomparison/
and you can contact them for promotion coupons as well
it is a comparison website for top web hosting providers, their plans, features, bonuses and review rating on each.

There's a couple of lifehacker articles on this. Knowing their audience, I would recommend their advice. Bluehost, Dreamhost, and 1 and 1 seem popular.
