I have a domain registered at Godaddy, but I want my site to be hosted at byethost. How can I do this?

  1. Hello,

It is perfectly okay to have your domain registration hosted with one host and your actual website hosted with another.

Since Godaddy is your domain registration host, I will assume that they host your DNS for this domain name also. You can determine this by doing a whois lookup (www.xwhois.com).

    1. Contact byethost support and ask for the IP address of your hosting account and email server name (if applicable).

    2. Contact Godaddy support and ask them to update the DNS of your domain name with the information you just obtained from byethost in Step 1.

DNS changes like this take up to an hour to propagate.

    Good Luck!
