I’ve purchased 2 domain names. One from a friend the other one from Godaddy, but when I typed the names in the?

1. fromfriend.com
2. fromgodaddy.com
when I typed www.fromfriend.com in the address bar, I see:
/Parent Directory
_private/
cgi-bin/
images/
But, when I type www.fromgodaddy.com, I got pages that contains words like "from" "go" or "daddy". Basically, it looks like I’m googling these 3 words.
Why is there a difference? I thought I was just purchasing a domain, and there was nothing fancy about it. Were they set up differently?
Help will be appreciated!

Domains with no content are sometimes setup with "parked" pages, that basically says "this domain may be for sale, in the meanwhile, here some related sites".
At other times, they just show a directory structure (which is actually bad as it makes hacking your server easier).
Yes, they are indeed set up differently.

Your friend’s domain has already been set up and populated. Can you be sure the same is true for the godaddy domain? In other words, it may not be visible on the Web until you create it and supply at least a home page.
