Yes you can forward your name servers to the host you like. Get the name servers you need to use from your host and call go daddy support they will walk you threw setting it up correctly in DNS.

Yes you can. Just go to your control panel on godaddy and point your name servers to your hosting (bluegravity should be able to provide you wtih that information). I have registered many domain names at godaddy and have hosted them at many other different hosting companies.

Yes, the web host you choose will help you setup your domain name with them. However, I do NOT recommend that you purchase you domain name and hosting separate because it is possible to get your domain for free if you buy the domain and hosting together.
Since you are looking for a web host let me tell you that there are many web hosting providers and you might become confused to choose which one. It is very important that you choose a good web host. Good doesn’t mean expensive. Good means reliable with great support. When you choose a web host, make sure they have excellent support. If you have a problem with your web site you want help now, not in a day or two.
It can be confusing when choosing a web hosting company because they all look pretty much the same and they seem like they know what they are doing. However, I recommend reading reviews from reliable websites so that you may compare and become more familiar with the hosting companies before making a decision. This website has helped me a lot with my hosting decisions for a while now http://www.top15hosting.com
I hope this will help you.

I can’t stand Godaddy. It is so Slow. I find GDI to be far superior to anything that I have ever tried. They have Site Builders for Beginners as well as a lot of more advanced features. But, as to your question. I believe you could just use forwarding to achieve what you want to achieve way easier.

Yes you could but before you do that, take a look at http://hosting.mestore.us
you will probably save time and money, bluegravity.com looks a little expensive and I just don’t like Godaddy. Also there is a convenience factor of having domain and hosting from same place.
