what’s the difference between domain name and web hosts–?

im trying to start my own internet site–someone please fill me in on what i need i know i need a domain name but do i need a web host –what is a web host–

    Ur domain name is just what it says……Ex….my domain name is laptopworldpr………..and my web host is Yahoo.

    put the 2 together and u have http://www.laptopworldpr.com

  2. No you DONT need a domain name to start a site. A domain name is just a name you apply for which helps people find your site. Your site is stored on a hosting site and is given a url. A domain name simply directs people to that url. Get your site up and running and then apply for a domain name if you desire.

  3. Domain name is the name of the site like http://yahoo.com most webhosts include this for free. a host stores your files on their server and when your domain name is typed your files are shown. http://oneandone.com is a good host. Its absolutly necessary.
