Basically I am paying for shared hosting and also VPS hosting and would like to move my Joomla site from the shared to the faster VPS so I can cancel the shared hosting. How do I do this without losing all the content I already have? Thanks!
My friend’s website designer is nowhere to be found since June last year. He’s the same guy who referred them to a wieb host. Unfortunately this guy wasn’t able to turn over the name of the web host name and contact details, and the username and password.

My friend told me that they wanted to edit the website since last year.
How can they trace the web host?
I am creating a web page but what’s the difference in web hosting and MS web hosting? Is MS better or does is it more compatible?
I’m opening a web hosting company. Is it alright to have hosting without a control panel? Would I still get customers if my hosting packages don’t include a control panel?
Need to know if this is a reliable web host for an e-commerce site (osCommerce).
Even an old man like Myself can see that e-commercce is the future, and while I consider My self to be fairly comfortable with using th einternet and computers, I am a long way from being an expert on building web sites, and setting up e-commerce accounts. So I have some questions I would like to understand better before I proceed with establsihing My own web business…
I am going to have to start with some kind of a “welcome page” which I am pretty sure I can handle.
But from there I want to split between a “free tour” and a “members login”page.
The free tour is probably nothing more than linking other web pages which are no more complicated than the welcome page??? But the members sign in page, how would I go about setting that up???
I am also going to what some way of billing My customers for their montlhy memberships and for on line purchases, which I am guessing would invovle something like pay pals and a link to an e-commerce capable bank account which I think I have with washington mutual.
I want the ability to up load videos and music for viewing and sale.
And I am going to want an on line catolog of merchandise related to My business.
I am also going to want some kind of members only chat room.
And I want to have some kind of live auction capability.
I am going to bet that there are other things I am going to need to know that I amnot even aware of yet, and I am hoping that with this e-mail I can get started and then as I have other questions and problems I will be able to seek guidence and advice from ????

I use Serif Web Plus X2 for my web design and I love it love it love it! However, it appears that with Serif there’s no need to go through an external FTP server. I use Bluehost for my hosting services, and I try to put my main user name and password into the Serif Publishing section, and then I leave the folder name blank. Nothing is publishing…the files are being uploaded somewhere but I’m not sure where. Bluehost’s File Manager section is so confusing to me, I’m not even sure what folder to upload to, or if I have the wrong password, etc. I’ve just really been confused and VERY anxious and upset because I have to get my new website up. Can someone please help me if they know Serif well enough to tell me how to upload the site to some directory on Bluehost?
