Buying domain from GoDaddy?

Any tips on buying would be helpful, thanks.
Maybe later I will want income, but for now I just want it for a personal art gallery.
Can I get the upgrades later?
I have very little knoweledge of website building.

That depends on what you need a website for. If you are trying to generate income, its very important. If all you need is a personal website, you dont need a domain name

Buying a domain from godaddy is easy but read everything they throw at you while your buying it! From the moment you search for the domain name till the moment you check out they will try to make you buy more stuff you probably do not need so watch out.
Hosting at GoDaddy is easy to set up specially if you have the domain from them too.
I personally have 4 websites hosted at godaddy and none of them caused me any problem. But you can find many people complaining about the company’s hosting online so check your needs first and then buy hosting from them if you are sure it is good for you.
Finally google for some godaddy coupons before buying anything, they can be easily found and will make you up to a 30% discount!

I would suggest using http://www.fatcow.com/ only $58 a year since you are just starting out and it has the same features as godaddy and more but a bit cheaper.
And try getting a copy of Adobe Dreamweaver, it will help you make websites without using html codes, after you have learned a lil bit you can go into advanced mode and use html.

So not really on the same topic as your post, but I found this today and I just can’t resist sharing. Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you the check. Oh, and by the way…don’t worry about my Doberman. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT under ANY circumstances talk to my parrot!” When the repairman arrived at Mrs. Agathe’s apartment the next day, he discovered the biggest and meanest looking Doberman he had ever seen. But just as she had said, the dog simply laid there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
