Problems with GoDaddy?

Okay, so I have registered for a GoDaddy account, but for some reason can’t host my site there. I started with Windows Hosting, but later on, switched to Linux Hosting through the Hosting page. When I went to set up my Linux account, it said that my domain was still being used, so I went and canceled my windows hosting. When I went back to setup my Linux hosting account, it still said that my domain name was being used, and couldn’t set up my account. I came back an hour and a half later and I’m still getting the same error!!!

Does anyone know why this might be?

I want to create a website for suicide prevention for my husbands bestfriend who just commited suicide I am not quite sure how to go about this I want to make this website not only for suicide awareness with links to the major suicide prevention websites to donate in my husbands friends name I want it to be a memorial for his friend I just dont know how to go about doing this and I looked into GoDaddy and people say its pretty easy but to me it looks very confusing. So if anyone could help me please give me some info? I already missed the suicide walk in chicago which is tomorrow and we really want to do something to make sure he is not forgotten and to raise awareness for depression and suicide prevention.

I bought a domain and a hosting package from Godaddy and uploaded the files via the ftp client they provide now i dont know how to get them on the actual site and how to make them visible starting with the welcome page i have also tried the sitemap and dont know really how to work that but if you could give me a step by step intruction on how to do this i would greatly apriceate it. p.s. im on a mac

What is the difference between a web host like Joyent and a basic hosting company like GoDaddy?

I’m trying to figure out which company to use for hosting the database that will be required for my small business. The business helps clients crunch certain information using a database (likely written in php).

I was referred to Joyent and it looks like a solid cloud host, but I’m also familiar with GoDaddy and they are much cheaper. Are they in the same ballpark in terms of what they can offer?

I registered my domain name with godaddy.com and now I wish to forward the domain name to atspace.com because I want to use their free web-hosting service. How to do this domain-forwarding stuff?
