How do I edit my GoDaddy page?
Posted on Dec 29, 2009 under GoDaddy.com | 78 CommentsI just bought web hosting, and a domain name from go daddy for like 60$, but I don’t know how to upload my files, or upload my MySQL databases. I’m not even sure I can connect to it since it just shows a page with ads and stuff.

I bought the hosting plan which came with 10 MySQL databases, and 10 GB storage. I already made a website on my computer and it only uses 1 MySQL database, and is approximately 23MB.
I do know what FTP is, I know all of that. I just dont know how to connect to go daddys ftp servers, and how to edit the MySQL databases

learn about "FTP", go daddy has it’s own or you can get "filiezilla" an ftp progra, it basically allows you to connect your computer to your server and drag files over to your server.

If you just setup your hosting account, you may need to wait up to 48 hours for the DNS to propagate. This is to allow enough time for your domain name to point to your recently setup hosting account. If you are seeing ads when you try to go to your website, it is more than likely that your domain name is not pointing to your shared server yet.
Right now, when I go to your domain name, I see Go Daddy’s default coming soon page (no ads). This indicates that your domain name is not pointing to your shared hosting account. In order to connect to your server via FTP, you will need an FTP client or you can use the one within your Go Daddy account. For FTP login information, you will typically use your domain name as the host name, and your username and password you setup for your hosting account (not your Go Daddy login information). Managing your MySQL db’s will be done within the Hosting Control Panel on Go Daddy’s site. Further information on setting up a MySQL db can be found in the article below.

What you said made a lot of sense. But, think about this, what if you added a little content? I mean, I dont want to tell you how to run your blog, but what if you added something to maybe get peoples attention? Just like a video or a picture or two to get people excited about what youve got to say. In my opinion, it would make your blog come to life a little bit.
