How do I copy and paste HTML code to my godaddy.com account so I can create a live website?
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | 10 CommentsOk – the HTML code is already written (right now it is just in a word doc). In the code, I have all images linked to my images in photobucket. It works! I used a free online HTML preview site to check it and it is working properly! Now how to I get this HTML on the domain that I just purchased?? Do I have to use Web Tonight? Looks like there is a charge for that. Can someone help me? I would like to get this site up today!!!

You need to have a hosting account also. Owning a domain name is only half the battle. Godaddy does hosting so you can purchase it from them, but I think they also have limited free hosting when you buy a domain name. But they put an ad on the top of your page. But now you have to take that code and create a text file called index.html. To do this open up notepad, or any other PLAIN TEXT editor, Word won’t do, copy and paste the text in to it, then when you save, choose All files in the Save as type box, then type index.html in the name box.
Then you just have to upload this file to your hosting, type in your domain in your browser and there you go.
A new domain and hosting account takes about 24 hours to go live though, so if you jsut bought it this won’t happen until tomorrow.

you need a web space and a domain. Personally I don’t like so much godaddy (if something does not work, it’s a problem; my host, visionhost, has a better support) but youc an get a web space from them. There are better hosts, however.
As for the html, I found it boring and I got a visual editor, http://www.1site.info this saves me a lot of time, the time I spent creating one page, now I create an entire website
