HostGator cPanel Question?

Now I recently found out about the cPanel and how it can be used to manage your site. So my question is how do i get my hands on cPanel. When I sign up for hostgator, do they send me a cd with the application or do they give me a download link or what? thank you

cPanel is a web app - no installation.
Get a free account at 000webhost to see it.
You may not need to go to gator.
If you do, consider ICDSoft instead - we find it more reliable.

I use hostgator and have found them very reliable. Have hosted 4+ websites using them.
cPanel comes pre installed and you just go to http://www.yourdomainanname.com/cpanel and it will take you there, when you sign up you pick a password and a user name.

cpanel is just the control panel for your website, where you can setup emails for your site, setup ftp accounts which can be used to upload webpages, know statistics about visitors etc etc. There is one section named fantastico, using this you can install selection web content management softwares into your site. but if this is not what you are looking, but just to create a basic html site you have to know some basics about creating website.
