So my question is how do i get my hands on cPanel. When I sign up for hostgator, do they send me a cd with the application or do they give me a download link or what? thank you

I have a site hosted on proboards, thats a free hosted website. But I was looking at purchasing a domain. Im looking at http://www.active-domain.com and it looks pretty good. Will I be able to keep the site looking like the proboards site? I won’t have to move the URL will just change right?
And what are some hidden disadvantages of this?
