Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | OK – I have a *very* basic e-mail php script which *always fails*. The weird thing is that the mail() function appears to be working – it returns an error. However, it *always* returns an error – and I see no reason for it to do so.
My server: GoDaddy (Windows Server)
Below is the script. Please tell me: why won’t this work? (GoDaddy support refuses to answer.)
<?php
$mail_ok = mail("jim@bibleselector.com", "This is a test", "This is only a test", "From: email@bibleselector.com");
if ($mail_ok)
{
echo("Mail OK");
}
else
{
echo("Mail fail");
}
?>
Added note for experts: have attempted to use PHPMailer instead without success (it fails to run the very first line of PHP script).
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | I need to make my own website for work. I’m thinking of using GoDaddy.com. I don’t know what options I have. Don’t want to spend a ton. Any suggestions???
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | Just curious, I got my money refunded today, the transfer hasn’t gone through yet.
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | I have a few questions about godaddy.com.
Is it a safe site if I give payment plan info (ie: Paypal, credit)?
How much does it cost? I looked on the site, but I found it a bit confusing. It said $11 for 1 year through 10 years. Is this true?
Can I manage the site myself?
Does the godaddy name appear on my site? Does it say sitename.godaddy.com like website makers?
Is it true sites made on godaddy.com are easily hacked?
How does selling your site work? Does godaddy take a percentage?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much.
Do ads appear on my website?
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | So at first my domain was forwarding great to my t35 hosting. But than I tried using GoDaddy’s free hosting, and it has that annoying ad, so I’m trying to forward it back to the t35 hosting, but it never is. Everything is set up to forward to it. The nameservers are checked to Forward my domain, the forwarding is done, but it still doesn’t work and forwards to the GoDaddy free hosting.
The site is http://www.risingimpactmusic.com, but I can’t change the layout without first forwarding it to http://www.risingimpact.t35.com/home.html . Help please.
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | Ok – the HTML code is already written (right now it is just in a word doc). In the code, I have all images linked to my images in photobucket. It works! I used a free online HTML preview site to check it and it is working properly! Now how to I get this HTML on the domain that I just purchased?? Do I have to use Web Tonight? Looks like there is a charge for that. Can someone help me? I would like to get this site up today!!!
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under GoDaddy.com | I tried to just upload the index.html as a file and it won’t let me. It only lets you do images (like .jpg files). I also tried to pick the most simple template and enter in my code in the one of the spots and delete the other areas, but it won’t do that either. HELP!
BTW – I have a free website tonight account. I wonder if that makes a difference.
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under Bluehost.com | I had a normal wordpress.com account and decided to upgrade to the wordpress.org that you download. I bought bluehost which downloads it for you, and simple scripted the blog which gave me a link to edit my new website, however the link keeps redirecting me to my old wordpress.com website? what am I doing wrong?
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under domain news and reports | I need something affordable. Like 1.99 2.99 for each year not just the first year (or for 5 years). I’ve come across these deals before, but, recently it’s harder to find.
Posted on Jan 04, 2010 under domain news and reports | Can I purchase available domain names for less than godaddy charges? I use godaddy and with their discount, I pay $7.49 per domain name. If there are other companies that provide this service for less, what are they and what do they charge?
