I registered for the domain at Godaddy.com. I signed up for hosting service at HostGator. Do I have to do this?

It’s ok (and common) to use 2 different companies, one for domain registration, and the other for hosting.
You have to log into the domain name account and "point" it to the hosting account.
There should be directions on both sites to explain this. It’s a bit confusing, but I did it once and it worked, so I bet you can figure it out too.
