Customer Said that if needed i need to provide my account password and last for digit on my credit card, i ask them why they need to ask that kind of information and they said they need it for account verification. any idea if its right?

I've done some serious digging for a good hosting site for some time. godaddy.com has been my top choice simply because it is most recommended, and it best fit the needs of what I want to do? Would bluehost be any good for my needs or should I stick with godaddy. I've calculated that I would have to pay $150 up front, plus $65 monthly with godaddy, compared to $6.95 plus a merchant account w/ bluehost. I'm simply trying to figure out what's the catch with bluehost.

I'm proficient in CS3 so I'm designing the site easily, however, when ever i enter my main domain address, it keeps pulling up the index directory. I can take the directory off, or just list one single file to be shown in it, but i don't want either.
How can i setup a default page that shows up when you enter my domain name? no directory, just the website.
