How can I make a Ruby on Rails application work on my bluehost.com account?

Bluehost.com have given me SSH access on my account. I tried to follow this tutorial http://helpdesk.bluehost.com/kb/index.php?x=&mod_id=2&root=8&id=232 in order to see how Ruby on Rails would work on my bluehost.com hosted website, but I was unable to make it work.

I reached the point where the tutorial says: "You should now be able to go to http://first.yourdomain.com/," but when I did visit the link there was nothing showing there.

How can I make Ruby on Rails work on my bluehost.com account?
