On godaddy.com they try to upsell you to premium service?

After you put in the domains that you want for the low low price - they kind of threaten you by saying now all your private information is going to be waving in the breeze on the Internet. And of course they then offer you a solution to your dilemma - at still more cost. So a few questions.. if you register with other registrar will they keep your information private at no extra charge? Or do they all require extra fees to keep your name and address etc private? And lastly - how are godaddy's fees compared to other registrars if you compare both their basic domain name service and their premium "keep your address etc private" service??

i just created a domain for my website. I went thru go daddy.com. now how do i edit it and build it? I know i go to a web hosting thing. But does it have to be thru go daddy or anywhere is fine?
