Posted on Mar 20, 2010 under hostgator.com | Hi,
I have a domain with Yahoo! Small Business. No hosting, just the name and e-mail apparently.
For the last 2 or so years I’ve been charged monthly for just the name, and now I’m looking to transfer over to HostGator. I was given this page, https://secure.hostgator.com/transfer.php
However, it asks for FTP accounts from the OLD hosting and NEW hosting.
Looking around on my Yahoo! page, I don’t think I have hosting for one, let alone an FTP account.
And for the NEW hosting information, is that like once I register with HostGator or how does that work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Posted on Feb 23, 2010 under hostgator.com | I want to upload videos and files to my website which is hosted by hostgator.(BABY PLAN)
But I have a feeling that if I recieve alot of traffic and people download and stream videos and files, my website would be really slow. I have unlimited space and bandwith so It would be cool if it would not be slow. Or Do I need to rent a private server for that?
Posted on Feb 23, 2010 under hostgator.com | I am thinking about purchasing a busniess plan with host gator, but I want to make sure I can upload my animated GIFs. >thanks
Posted on Feb 06, 2010 under hostgator.com | I don’t want to worry about space and bandwidth.
Also it should be around 3-5$/month. I’ve seen some offers around the web but don’t know how good they are.
A friend recommended hostgator but I’m opened to any ideas.
Posted on Feb 04, 2010 under hostgator.com | Actually I am wanting to see samples of websites that are hosted by these companies. If anyone has a website that I can see can you please type your link. I am trying to decide what host I want to use. I am trying to find something not so cheap, but not so expensive. I am seeking something really reliable and less downtime.
thanks.
Posted on Feb 01, 2010 under hostgator.com | This may be a stupid question but the unlimited domain thing sounds too good to be true. Their "baby" host only costs like $7.99 a month.. can you really host as many domain names and websites for just $7.99 a month? Does that mean I can have www.carsforsale.com, www.housesforsale.com, www.dogsforsale.com, www.catsforsale.com etc etc all for $7.99? With as much pages on each site as I wanted? Again sounds too good to be true? Is it? Thanks.
Posted on Jan 25, 2010 under hostgator.com | So I’m deciding on a web hosting company, and I think im going to try hostgator. Now I recently found out about the cPanel and how it can be used to manage your site. So my question is how do i get my hands on cPanel. When I sign up for hostgator, do they send me a cd with the application or do they give me a download link or what? thank you
