Moving Website From Godaddy to Hostgator Without Losing Google Rankings?

I have a website currently at Godaddy using Website Tonight. I am going to be moving it over to Hostgator using a wordpress blog. Hostgator has given me access so I can build my site and have it ready before I change the name servers.

The domain name will be the same. All pages on the new site will keep the same names but wordpress and godaddy website tonight use a different format for names.

Here’s an example.

Godaddy website tonight uses this format for pages.
websitename.com/Name_Of_Page.html

But on Hostgator the name of the pages will have this format using wordpress.
websitename.com/name-of-page

I have a few keywords on the first page of google and I’m afraid of losing those results. What is the proper way of doing a 301 redirect so I can send people from the old url’s to my new ones?

I have 17 pages that will need to be redirected.

Any help someone could give me will greatly be appreciated. I probably didn’t explain my question very well so if you need more info to help clarify what I’m asking please let me know.

Do you think that different cultural background, though a person may be born and raised with many others in the US or Canada, has an effect subconsiously on who they find attractive? I’m half-Japanese, half-Italian, but have been told that I look Latina or Egyptian, and strangely, when I meet men of these backgrounds, even second or third-generation, they seem to pay much more attention to me than any other race. I find White boys to pay little-to-no attention at allto me; however, I do have a friend who is considered beautiful by many Caucasian boys we meet, but is ignored by the Latino boys. I am in no way asking this in a racist manner, more just in a curious social-science biological kind of way.
Any thoughts?
